I wish to share with others, the shield method that was taught to me. I use it daily and find it effective.
It’s important to protect our energy, especially when we feel overwhelmed, weak, or vulnerable. But we should be wary of rejecting others and judging them because they do not make us feel good. I recently found myself feeling drained by what I thought might be energy vampirism. I also thought that it might be happening on purpose and not innocently. However, I had to stop myself in the midst of building walls against this person through my judgements, thoughts, and feelings because I became aware that I was overreacting. Awareness of the trains and tangents of thoughts we can go off on is important. I had to take notice of where my feelings were coming from. From ego or intuition? I knew it had begun with intuition, but then my ego had taken over and gotten carried away. In the end, I decided that while I won’t want to spend a lot of time with this person, I can be friendly and civil at the times they appear in my life, and I can set boundaries without being rude or unfriendly.
It may be true that your energy feels drained or some negativity is felt in interactions with some people, but it’s good to remember that we are all from the same ultimate Source. We shouldn’t focus too much on the othering of those that we don’t feel immediately connected to. Hate can turn to love, and love to hate, all is change and it’s not helpful to dwell too strongly on how we feel in just one moment of time. Strong reactions can colour our future interactions with someone and cause an ongoing warped perception. The conscious/ego mind doesn’t always get it right. Sometimes there is old karma that needs working through and it is not helpful to reject all discomfort out of hand and always seek the easy path.
I once read the story of a Tibetan nun who found that she couldn’t stand another nun because of the noises this other nun made during communal silent meditations. She was unable to meditate because she was so distracted by this nun’s breathing and other mouth or nasal noises. She became enraged by the other nun’s inability to see that she was disturbing others. Strong feelings like these often perpetuate the situation. This is one of the ways in which karma works. What we give energy to, will manifest. And so she found herself always seated near the annoyance despite her efforts to move away.
When she realised what was happening, she decided the problem was her own, and that she could learn a valuable lesson in tolerance from this. She made efforts to change her attitude towards the person who was annoying her. Instead of hating her, she began to do everything she could to help and assist her. She became her friend. Instead of trying to avoid her, she made every effort to be near her. And she found that her feelings towards her erstwhile enemy did not just improve, but completely turned around. Before long, she had developed a genuine affection for this woman. And the other nun noticed too, and said ‘I really don’t know why she seems to like me so much!’
This does come with a caveat. It may not be helpful or safe to befriend every person that repels us. However, it is worth looking at the walls we put up against others and checking in with why. Not allowing it to get out of hand with lots of thoughts and judgements that lead us to hate someone for minor reasons and possible misperceptions. Perception differs from one person to another and is never 100% accurate since we cannot see the whole. If we were able to connect to our higher selves and talk directly to their higher self, then what would we see? And how much more would we understand?
In some cases, it will be appropriate to shield yourself from others. In the end it’s about balance. We are all from the same source. It is only the 3D duality that we live in that creates the difference. We should try not to let our egoic mind guide too much of our path.
We can help others by doing nothing more than staying in the highest vibration that we can manage. Which brings us back to the shield.
Picture your chosen shield as you say the words with confidence in the power of source energy. Allow yourself to feel its protection:
I command from my link to Source that a pyramid of white healing light surrounds me, above and below, and all around. Its triple-layered shield repels anything that is of a lower vibration. Only that which is of the highest vibration and highest good can enter this field. Anything else will be sent back to Source and absorbed by light. Light is always stronger than the dark.
I usually renew this a few times a day. I also put it over my car when I’m commuting, and over my whole house when I go to bed.
I use a car shield after learning that Dolores Cannon used the pyramid shield for her car and it rarely needed to go to the garage. It was usually when someone else drove that things went wrong! (Image created by the author on Nightcafe).
I use a pyramid as I was taught this through Dolores Cannon’s method of hypnosis, but some people prefer a sphere of light around them. Adapt as necessary. Some may prefer a religious icon over Source. I use Source because I see it as the ultimate light and enlightenment that every religion speaks of and it does not exclude anyone based on their beliefs.
It’s also very important not to take out the part where lower energies and vibrations are dispersed harmlessly as we don’t want to send harm to anyone or anything else as that will immediately lower our vibration.
Just because we can’t see it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have power. Let me know in the comments about what kind of shields you use.
